t’s nearly Christmas and the Elves are getting ready.
The presents are all made and wrapped and the Elves are getting ready for the big day.
They must look their best, they can’t let Father Christmas down.
So they take off their little Elf uniforms and give them a wash and hang them up on the washing line to dry.
Join Jane Grimshaw, founder of The Virtual Thread on Saturday 12th December to create your very own Elves washing line to decorate your house with this Christmas.
Jane is a costume maker for theatre and film based on the coast in Southern England. She has made sewing her livelihood since the early 1990’s and has taught costume making and sewing for over 25 years, including running a kids sewing school for many years in South London. She is now applying much of the decorative knowledge gained over the years to The Virtual Thread textile craft workshops.
This workshop is suitable for children aged 7 and over. Due to the use of pins, needles and scissors we must ask that an adult is supervising the children at all times. Some younger children may also need help with threading needles and cutting out. However all of the activities in the workshop are well within the abilities of a child of 7 years and over.
The Tutor has a full DBS certificate and no photography will be taken during the workshop.

*coloured felt or fabric including white (for snow /fur trims)
*1m coloured ribbon
* threads
*pins, needles, scissors
*paper and pencil
*small shirt sized buttons (for ends of hats)
* coloured beads (to use as buttons)
