An evening of stitching swears on to dainty fabrics

Jane is a costume maker for theatre and film based on the coast in Southern England. She has made sewing her livelihood since the early 1990’s and has taught costume making and sewing for over 25 years. She is now applying much of the decorative knowledge gained over the years to these textile craft workshops.

This corona beating, socially distanced Workshop will take place via zoom.

At The Virtual Thread we believe in learning in an informal setting, we encourage participants to interact with the tutor and each other as often our best ideas come from discussions with like minded people.

The workshop is suitable for all levels of ability, though not really suitable for younger members of society or those who are easily offended!

Raucous profanity is encouraged, the main aim of the evening being to express ourselves in a thoroughly modern way through the medium our Grandmother’s taught us. Get your stitch on, get your swear on and join us for an evening of embroidered profanity.

To fully participate in this workshop you will need

* an embroidery hoop

* a piece of plain fabric large enough to fit in your hoop

* embroidery threads in a variety of complimentary colours

* hand sewing needles with a large eye

* Pencil and paper
